What is an "SPD?"

"SPD" is short for "Summary Plan Description." An SPD is the booklet which describes the rules of a plan of benefits—including eligibility, coverage, how to file claims, any required co-pays, etc.

The Service Employees 32BJ North Health Fund (North Health Fund) provides health benefits to eligible members of Local 32BJ and their dependents; it covers members who work in the Bronx and in some locations in Westchester (formerly 32E).

This website includes the Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) for two plans of benefits, Tri-State Preferred North, which covers most North members, and Plan B.

Eligibility is determined by the collective bargaining agreement covering you at work. If you’re covered by a Plan other than the North Health Fund, go to the Building Service 32BJ Health Fund at http://www.32bjfunds.org/health/planfinder.asp.
